A few weekends ago, the Howard University Figure Skating Team and I participated in the Blue Hens Ice Classic at the University of Delaware. We are the first intercollegiate HBCU figure skating team in history, and this was the first time an HBCU has participated in a US Figure Skating event! I so appreciate being a member of this team and receiving never-ending support from my family, friends, school, and fans! Huge shout out to Maya James and Cheyenne Walker, our co-founders, for making this dream a reality! I'm so proud of them both.
The team exceeded our expectations and is improving rapidly! The goal last weekend was to get some experience under our belt and show the world that we belong in the figure skating community. Most importantly, we had a great time, and the other teams were very inviting! I cannot wait for the upcoming seasons - we have the potential to be very strong competitors
