"Throughout the semester, you have explored a variety of themes and ideas in the texts that you’ve read and the discussions you’ve had with your peers. These themes include “non-standard” varieties of English, ideology, and Education, multiple forms of literacy, multimodal texts and analysis, rhetorics of class, intersections of race and gender, the development of a “single story” and its consequences, and many more. Further, you have explored a variety of cultural artifacts, from essays to music videos. 

 

For your final essay for the course, select a theme or concept from the semester and use it as a lens to analyze a cultural artifact of your choosing."
